One thing that's a little bothersome is that the background binary image is smaller than 1920x1200 (my screen resolution) so I see two black bars on either side of the website at all times. This makes it hard to read any black text that stretches to the edges of the screen, like the "Go to page" text and page number links at the bottom of threads. Is there a way you can tile the background image for those of us with large widescreen monitors?

I also have that problem if I check from home. My res is at 1920x1080. I have to highlight the numbers to see them. Not a huge issue though. Keep doing what you're doing Q.

I love how when I try to browse to a page that requires a login, it give me the option to actually log in and then try to open that page again. At 3C0X1.net, if I clicked a link in my e-mail, it would just give an error if I needed to be logged in to see it. Then I'd have to login and go back to my e-mail to re-open that page. Much appreciated, Q!

I use IE 7.0.5730.11 at work and Firefox 3.5 at home and I'm not having any issues with this.

The background image is still not tiling on either of the browsers I'm using (I have a widescreen monitor at work too). It's still centered on the page. But at least the background color is dark gray instead of black now so I can sort of make out the black text on the edges of the screen. If nothing else, could you lighten the bgcolor a little more? Thanks!

I'll try and lighten it tonight...
I go on leave for a week starting tomorrow so you won't see much if any changes for a week.

From Dictionary.com:

–noun
1. Informal. a man or boy; fellow: He's a nice guy.
2. Usually, guys. Informal. persons of either sex; people: Could one of you guys help me with this?

I'm noticing the acronym tags are a little messed up. It's trying to display acronyms for a string of letters inside a word instead of recognizing separate acronyms. For instance, someone posted in a thread about the 25th ASOS and the SOS part was highlighted as its own acronym. <-- You'll probably see it in this post. (Also, that specific acronym tag is horribly jacked up. Lots of funky characters displaying in it.) Another example I've seen is ABU's, where the AB is highlighted as "Airman Basic or Air Base". There's no "Airman Battle Uniform" tag.

And of course, the AF tag seems to be gone. That one was my favorite! The "you're not that dumb, are you?" tag.

Yeah, I just looked around again and it seems to be grabbing strings of capital letters. Someone posted in all caps and the word UPSTAGE marked the TA as Tuition's Assistance.

Seems like an easy enough fix. Just put a space on either side of the acronym to tag and it'll stop grabbing them out of words.

Cant access from work. Do you have a work around site for that to bypass this like you did with the old site?

I don't know if it was mentioned, but I don't see anywhere that it shows the creator of the thread on the front page. Also, the "Title" column looks like this for me. {TITLE} while the other ones look normal.

EDIT: Also, it looks like the site noticed the "TLE" in TITLE and has it underlined like it's an acronym. Also, I'm not a Post Whore anymore. WTF!

For the past couple of days I have been having issues with logging into this site. I login and it says I did so successfully then it goes to the forums and shows that I am not logged in.

Just a minor suggestion: can we extend the signature block to 300 characters? It's hard to find a nice quote to squeeze into 150. I feel like I'm trying to tweet. "Dammit, gotta' re-word that one too. Need to cut out 4 more characters somewhere..."

Man, I've been slacking off posting so Q would hit the Post Whore benchmark before me. Now I've got to rethink my whole waiting game strategy...

So far I'm not liking the change...simply cause the new site is slow as hell. Even going to a thread and clicking the back button takes way to long for the page to load. And the name is pretty lame too

Q, I noticed that some times I read a thread and the theme is a nice clean black and grey one. Is it possible to add an option to exclusively use that theme?

I'm sure you're probably aware of it by now, but a lot of icons seem to be displaying warped sizes at random. Common ones are the ! and PM buttons in threads, but a lot of the new icons on the Portal page (the forum category ones) are stretched and aren't returning to their normal size with a page refresh.

It's not a big deal, just a minor glitch that some people are noticing.
