Wow, I love the new look! Wish I'd known it changed today, I just got off work. 3C0X1.net is blocked there (stupid Ramstein IPO guys) but I hope the new URL isn't blocked yet. Ever since I moved to Sembach a few months ago, I haven't been as active here because I usually moderate from work The_Provider wrote: Quote: Please note that you cannot ignore moderators or administrators. Sweet! Nobody can ignore me! Not that I give anyone reason to, it's just nice to know. Good job on the change-over, Q. I hope the tweaks and bugs are all minor issues from here on out. I haven't come across any problems yet, moderation or otherwise. PS: I hit submit and it said, "At least one new post has been made to this topic. You may wish to review your post in light of this" and displayed the new posts under that. I really like that! Although it could get annoying having to hit Submit a couple times if others are commenting on the thread at the same time.

Maybe it was added to get me to cut my post length?

One thing that's a little bothersome is that the background binary image is smaller than 1920x1200 (my screen resolution) so I see two black bars on either side of the website at all times. This makes it hard to read any black text that stretches to the edges of the screen, like the "Go to page" text and page number links at the bottom of threads. Is there a way you can tile the background image for those of us with large widescreen monitors?
Also, this isn't a bug or anything, but while you're revamping the site, it would be nice to go through the members list and remove any accounts that haven't been touched in a year or more. I know we don't have 10,969 users browsing and contributing to this site on even a semi-regular basis. Just my borderline OCD kicking in; you can disregard this suggestion if it's too much effort.

Someone earlier said they liked this, but it's annoying to me...I'd rather have the threads not be in groups, the icons on the side were good, and have all threads be arranged by reply date rather than grouped into a category then by date of reply. It's kind of a pain searching down the whole page looking at thread dates and times.
Also, I haven't seen it mentioned, but I think it would be a good idea to expand out by default all available categories, that way a new user can easily see all available content.

Huh, by default they're already expanded out? When I just go to commguys.net they aren't expanded out for me. I know I can go to "Board index" at the top or "forum" on the left, but those bring me to a different page that's not the home page. Maybe there is a setting that I need to uncheck, but I've never told the new interface to hide the particular categories. There isn't a "+" that's there for me to expand anything.

Ok, fixed the recent topics in the center, fixed the age block, fixed it so it should tile on large screen resolutions, add the forum categories on the left, narrowed the side blocks, removed "the team" block, hid the "bot tracker", moderate new users posts until they reach 5, fixed redirection from the old site and made the portal the default over here.
ToDo: Arcade Advertising Change the most act topics and top poster to be for the last xx days and not overall Mobile version Low bandwidth version
Let me know what you think of the changes....

I hope I don't get jumped 'cuz of my observation as it's only a "for my convenience" factor...
In the old site, the big 3C0X1.NET logo/banner on top of the page when clicked within the logo, it would redirect you to the home page. Now, you MUST click on the actual logo letters for the link to work (link won't work in the area inside the "O" in Comm, etc. just the actual letter itself.)
I know there's a "HOME" link on the RT side of the page, but it was much easier to just click on the logo as it's much bigger area.
Am I alone on this one?

Q wrote: Change the most act topics and top poster to be for the last xx days and not overall Why? I know it's your site, but all time stats, on most active threads at least, should stay.. Top posters is a whatever thing I guess, but all time top threads is pretty cool IMO. Should at least keep that around.

I'm very tired after a hard days work and the most recent forums seem a little too small for me. It takes a while to read through. I don't know if anybody else feels this way? I could blame my tiredness completely right now but it just doesn't seem as easy to quickly browse through the most recent topics... I would suggest a tad bigger.

I love how when I try to browse to a page that requires a login, it give me the option to actually log in and then try to open that page again. At 3C0X1.net, if I clicked a link in my e-mail, it would just give an error if I needed to be logged in to see it. Then I'd have to login and go back to my e-mail to re-open that page. Much appreciated, Q! The_Provider wrote: Is anyone using any browser besides IE having issues with text greater than the window when trying to reply? I use IE 7.0.5730.11 at work and Firefox 3.5 at home and I'm not having any issues with this. Q wrote: ...fixed it so it should tile on large screen resolutions... The background image is still not tiling on either of the browsers I'm using (I have a widescreen monitor at work too). It's still centered on the page. But at least the background color is dark gray instead of black now so I can sort of make out the black text on the edges of the screen. If nothing else, could you lighten the bgcolor a little more? Thanks!
